I’m writing this from the silence of my couch.. I SHOULD be in the studio today but my voice just couldn’t handle it today so its 24 hours of silence for me..  It started Monday night at my extravaganza, (I’m usually a bit hoarse the next morning but not usually as bad as it was)- Tuesday morning I headed to the studio, excited & pumped to put the new vocal track on our new single “Easy as Breathin’ ” which hasn’t “Officially” gone for adds yet but a few stations are already playing it around the country and it’s getting a GREAT buzz.. So we decided to pump up the production a bit to really make the song shine…

Needless to say I had a pretty tough time in the studio Tuesday and we decided it would be better to rest on it for the evening and hit it up bright and early today, Problem being it’s still VERY tight this am, so at the advice of my Throat Dr. I am shutting the Eff up today and giving my vocals which have been beaten up on the road pretty hard the last 2 months a FULL 24 hours to relax and rest.. Hopefully tomorrow it’s back to vocals to get this new radio edit out asap… So there’s That….

I’ve got a lot happening right now, writing for a new record, gearing up & Booking new shows around the country with emphasis on getting back through Texas, Florida & the Carolinas, and adding people to my team who are bringing serious assets to what we’re doing, in Short.. People who believe…  I’m still working closely with my AMAZING Guitar sponsor EPIPHONE Guitars, Fireball Whisky & Now my new Clothing friends and sponsors OUTLAW-Wear… It’s a Kick ass clothing company that is going to bring so much cool stuff to what we’re doing now all that along with some big new believers!! Missy Higgins / “Where I Stood” – I’ve never heard this written like this before. I LOVE this fucking song and so will you.. It’s powerful and heartbreaking at the same time.. The thought that “You gave me the ability to trust Myself  & that trust is telling me to leave you” Is brutal and amazing… I wish I wrote it… But don’t be surprised if you hear me Covering it…

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Angie Johnson & “Sidewinder” / “Rollin in the Deep” –  This amazing voice is part of the 571st Air Force Band and from the description they set up to entertain a small group of fellow soldiers.. Amazing Cover, Amazing Vid Check it out!!!

Matt Nathanson / “Laid” - This is Matts remake of the James Song.. It was the featured song on the original “American Pie” movie and is brought back for the American “Reunion” movie which anyone in my age group I think will super enjoy… It’s easy to look past the movies somewhat predictability to enjoy seeing the friends that were our age then and now and dealing with all that 30-something feeling about how we miss being young.. Plus how can you not love a song with a lyric like ” The neighbors complain about the noises above/and she only comes when shes on to top… Oh you think youre so pretty…”

Well it’s been a freaking crazy few days here in Nashville, Partnering up with a Clothing company for stage wear & eventually merch (details coming Soon), Re-recording a Radio edit for my New single “Easy as Breathing”, writing, playing all that… it’s great to be busy..

This week will be full of Nashville shows including a Trip to Fort Campbell to play, meet and participate with the Warrior Transition Unit’s “SOAR” Program (Sounds Of Acoustic Recovery)- They are working with American heros & She-ros who have continued to protect our freedom & were wounded in their efforts. The healing power of music is amazing and I’m SOOO Proud & Excited to get to participate in this amazing program, details & pictures to come..

It was a Long and crazy journey through the Midwest this past week!!! Shows in Council Bluffs, Iowa – Boone, Iowa & Hubertus Wisconsin made up for an amazing week for me!!!

I want to Thank everyone who came to the shows!! Its been very humbling lately to be surrounded by friends & fans who come to the shows to Listen to the music, feel it, and then come up after the show and tell me how this song hit them this way or helped them get through something, and after doing this my whole life, I am absolutely humbled by the support I’ve felt this year.. It’s been the busiest beginning of a year for me since I was touring with Larry the Cable guy, so to all of you music lovers who continue to treat me & my music with respect by coming out, hanging out, spreading the word and being Fucking Amazing… Thank you!!!

Bittersweet Return to Nashville:

Me & Mr. Hobson

Well as most of you know,Over 2 months ago. I happened to stumble across a starved and nearly dying Boston Terrier down by the lake near my house, we grabbed him up and rushed him to the vet where it was guessed he’d been without food for a few weeks and was around 13 years old.. Another guess is that he was dumped as a breeder dog that was no longer of use. So we decided to give him the best rest of his life we could and with the help of all of you for donating to Hobson via a “Stageit for Hobs” show yall helped pay a big Vet bill to get him back to good Health…

While I was on the road this weekend, We got a call, from a lady who had found a Pet finder post we posted after we found Hob’s in case he was someones little guy who had maybe gotten out of a fence and wandered off… She explained that her and her family had been devasted by the loss of their dog “Bill” who had slipped out of their back gate.. She explained how hed had a heart murmur since they got him as a puppy 13 years ago & that he was almost completely blind AND, Liked being held on his back like a baby..

She had been going through Petfinder with no luck and decided to look one last time

Hobson/Bill- Showing gratitude for Love

when she found our posting. Our hearts dropped & just like that Hobson was to be reunited with a Family who loved and missed him very much.. I’ve gotta say I miss my Pal Hobson but I’m glad that “Bill” is back at home…

Thank you all for everything you all did for Hobs & know he is back where he’s been for over 13 years and is very Happy…

The Loss of a Friend & Hero

Mike Roman

This last week the world loss an inspiration and thousands of people lost a friend, a true kind hearted friend… I first Mike Roman when i started doing the soldier rides with the Wounded Warrior Project. Mike & his wife Susy were present at every ride as the ambassadors from Boston scientific. Mike had lost a leg after an infection from a surgery he had to repair his knee after a game of basketball he was playing with his kids.  Mike had gone through a lot of the things that returning warriors are going through. Battling through the loss of a limb, the doubt, the fear, everything that comes along with it. The there’s the pain. The Phantom limb pain that has been explained to me and nothing short of excuriating pain in the limb that is no longer there. Mike lost a very short battle with Cancer last week. Below is a movie trailer they made about my friend Mike that will explain this all further.. All of this is amazing, Inspirational, filled with hope and still none of these words come close to explaining the way Mike Roman could light up your heart & a room.. his laughter was contagious, his heart was true and his words were sincere.. I had the pleasure of many laughs with Mike & Susy, Riding many miles through this country on cycles with amazing warriors that looked at Mike with inspiration.. It’s Been Crazy!!! I’ve been jumping into so many different things in the past week it’s seriously making my head spin and it’s so inspiring,  Between our weekly “extravaganza” shows, stageit.com shows, Hosting Revolution Country, shooting promos for the Nashville Predators & New tattoos I have been running!!!

So here is whats new… I guess I can Start with the New new, I have wanted forever a certain quote that I’ve always believed has mirrored my Philosophy of what good living is; so finally, thanks to my Tattoo Artist Jennifer Edge (who is great and can make you happy too) I finally got it.

Alright, well Country Radio Seminar was here and gone and I’ve gotta say outside of seeing all my artist friends that I haven’t seen in a long while, I’m glad its done.. It absolutley wipes me out every year.. It starts early in the morning ends late at night coupled with shows and all that hanging out time, it’ll whip your ass in no time.. So I’m glad its done…

I’m excited to tell you all that the new music I’ve been writing is getting the biggest reactions on the road I’ve honestly every had.. I recently had to change around my set lists because it is getting too hard to Follow “Yours in the Morning” Live.. Not Wagon Wheel not anything I do follows that song and it just reaffirms in me that I’m making the music I should be making and writing the truth and what it means to me.. so.. I think here soon you will see another Possible Kickstarter to help me start pre-production and get a budget right to go make a new record…. I can say this record will have two sides on it, both me, and both very real but different and I believe it’ll be the best music I’ve ever made..so we’ve got that!!!

I am adding more and more shows constantly making this one of the busiest years since I was out with Cable Guy 300 + a year.. it’s insane and I love it, it’s club shows, opening slots & even House shows so If you would like to host a house show and i’m coming close to your town (within 5-7 hrs drive) then drop me a line and I can give you details…
